About Alamo Flags


We welcome you to our newest edition of the Alamo Flag web site. We have expanded and are now the largest and most varied retail flag company in the world. But that is not where we started. I began by selling Turkish tapestries in 1972 by the Texas road sides with my father and did that until 1978 when I started selling flags. This part time job contributed to my college education, first at Southern Methodist University and later at the University of Texas, Dallas.
In my experience of traveling throughout this great nation, I discovered how America is made up of many groups from different nationalities. These people were proud, and still are, of their ancestral heritage. This led me to test the market place in many states around the country where I learned about the kind of flags my customers wanted.
I discovered American opportunity meant that vision and hard work could turn dreams into reality. In the 1986 the dream and reality came together. The Coca Cola Company was planning their Centennial Celebration in Atlanta, Georgia. We supplied the convention with flags of all the countries where Coke is sold. I knew then that my days of selling flags from out of my van years before had not been wasted.
One year later in Dallas, Texas, we opened our first store. By dedicating our efforts to provide the best products at the lowest possible prices, "word", as the expression goes, got around. The result was two following stores in New York and Washington D.C. We now have 35 stores nationwide and more on the way.
This is just the beginning we are still moving forward. For example, we have developed the 3x5 SuperPoly flag. This is our most popular flag because it offers the unbeatable combination of high quality and low price. You, the customer, are our most valuable asset.
